Marco Di Marcello, Italian and Canadian citizen, is a certified guide and member of the association of Canadian Mountain Guide, Biologist in Mitochondria Research Center at Austria, Explorer and active member of the Explora Nunaat International team since 2011.
His deep love for the mountains, oozed out early in his childhood and increased exponentially, brought him into sharing experiences with native population-that he got in contact with, all over the world from the first nations in the Canadian Rockies to the high altitude Sherpa population in a remote valley in Himalaya ( considered as the womb of the Sherpa Community and the tantric Buddhism), the beautiful Rolwaling Valley.
Having a very strong connection and deeply close relation to the Sherpa community and their needs, Marco and the whole Explora team, is helping the people in Rolwaling Valley in different ways. Along with his team, they established a via ferrata on the dangerous section of rock just below the Noisy Knob Camp (5000m) in Rolwaling side of Tashi Lapcha and this year they will continue this work in Khumbu side of Tashi Lapcha.
Marco visited the Himalaya for the first time in 2013, a profound experience that shaped his personality. Since the day, he has been back many other times and he is proud to call it his second home.
